Sound Absorbers

When any sound is produced in any contained space ( an area bounded by some  reflecting surfaces)  sound energy increases due to reflections within the space ( reverberation)
Soundproofing materials are introduced to reduce reverberations within spaces.
The Sorbalight product range proudly designed and manufactured in Australia, offers world leading technology in high quality products with excellent sound absorption properties to suit most applications.
Colours, finishes, shapes and curves and excellent physical properties are all available in the Sorbalight range of products.

Wall Systems

In order to contain a noise within a space the type and quality of the barriers that surround the space governs the amount of noise emanating from the space.
Traditional plasterboard and studs as well as masonry walls may not be adequate enough to be effective.
In most cases simple adding more plasterboard to stud systems is not cost effective and certainly in the case with masonry walls even less cost effective.
Creating better isolation between components within the wall systems can achieve better more cost effective solutions.
Barrierboard and Soundbreak are products that can create the necessary isolation.
In conjunction with both plasterboard, studs and masonry there are systems developed to improve the noise resistive requirements to meet most applications for both new and existing walls.

Acoustic Doors

Where better soundproofing is required to made to an existing wall or designing new walls in which a door is a part of that wall, consideration must be given to improving the acoustic requirements of the door/s as well as the walls.
Typically solid core doors even those of 40mm thickness only achieve an acoustic rating of 31dB with acoustic seals.
A standard wall with 10mm plasterboard either side of 90mm wide studs achieves an acoustic rating of 34dB.  This is greater than a 40mm solid core door.
Therefore where improved soundproofing is required all the building elements ie, walls, ceiling, floor, windows  and doors must be considered and have similar performance as noise will take the path of least resistance.
